My journey began with a foundation in social sciences, where I developed a deeper interest in psychology. I then pursued Integrative Counselling at Coventry University, earning a BA (Hons) degree.
Throughout my studies, I explored various therapeutic approaches—CBT, Person-Centred Therapy, and Psychoanalysis—but it was psychoanalytic therapy that truly captured my passion.
I believe there are underlying causes for many of our thoughts, fears, feelings, and behaviours, with much of this rooted in our subconscious—in dreams, childhood memories, and experiences that shape who we are today.
As a person who has had a great deal of life experience before delving into psychology and counselling academically, I feel this background provides me with a unique perspective in understanding and helping others on a deeper level, beyond textbook learning.
This insight fuelled my passion to become a counsellor.
When we begin our counselling journey together, I encourage you to help create a timeline of significant events in your life, whether they seem big or small. Understanding these events allows me to see how they have shaped your life to this point.
While I tailor my work to each individual, certain qualities remain consistent in my approach as a counsellor:
A non-judgmental environment
Complete trust and confidentiality
Empathy and sincerity
Clear, reliable communication
Warmth and integrity
